flimflam is back after the summer break with a great line-up and a new room, and the start of a marginally new era therefore, as the venue no longer has any backline, PA, or drumkit, so pretty much back to where it started in 2001. From the club’s point of view the changes to the room itself are fairly minimal, so the acoustic sound and general ambience shouldn’t be too affected.
This month we have a great quartet, Lullula, featuring the double vocals of Armorel Weston and Kay Grant, Jim Dvorak on trumpet and Otto Willberg on bass, a duo of Mancunian pianist Adam Fairhall here playing accordion with the sax, bass clarinet and Fola flute of Tom Ward; and Alan Wilkinson‘s reeds will be performing with the peerless and ‘legendary’ Mike Cooper on lap steel guitar and electronics.
